Why lozenges instead of pills or gummies?

Are your products candy or supplements?

Some Essential Candy products are dietary supplements with Supplement Facts panels, while others are foods with Nutrition Facts panels. All of them share the same focus on real plant ingredients, clean formulations, transparency, and high-quality manufacturing.

What makes Essential Candy unique?

Essential Candy creates plant-powered botanical lozenges using certified organic ingredients and real botanical extraction. Our products are manufactured in our own GMP-certified South Carolina facility and audited and licensed by the South Carolina Department of Agriculture. Do you have anything for digestive comfort?

Yes. Our Digestive Blend features certified organic ginger, peppermint, lemon, slippery elm, and marshmallow root — botanicals traditionally used to support digestive comfort and everyday stomach wellness.*

Do you offer blends for relaxation or sleep?

Yes. Our Slumber Blend is crafted with certified organic chamomile, valerian root, passionflower, skullcap, lavender, and orange. It is designed to support relaxation and restful sleep as part of a healthy nighttime routine.*

Why don’t you use melatonin in your Slumber Blend?

Our Slumber Blend takes a botanical-first approach to nighttime wellness. Instead of melatonin, we use plants that have been traditionally used for generations to support relaxation and restful sleep, including chamomile, valerian root, passionflower, skullcap, lavender, and orange.*

Can I take more than one blend in the same day?

Many customers enjoy different blends throughout the day based on their wellness needs. We recommend following the suggested serving directions on each package and not exceeding four lozenges daily. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or have a medical condition, please consult your healthcare provider before use.

What are botanicals?

Botanicals are plants or parts of plants — such as herbs, roots, flowers, leaves, fruits, mushrooms, and citrus — that have been traditionally used to support everyday wellness. Essential Candy blends feature carefully selected certified organic botanicals inspired by generations of herbal traditions.

What are adaptogens?

Adaptogens are a unique group of botanicals traditionally used to help the body adapt to everyday physical and mental stress while supporting overall balance.* Examples found in Essential Candy include ashwagandha, holy basil, and schisandra berry.

What are nootropics?

Nootropics are commonly associated with supporting cognitive wellness, including memory, focus, and mental performance.* Certain plant ingredients, such as lion’s mane mushroom, schisandra berry, and cacao, are often described as natural nootropics because of their long history of use and growing interest in cognitive health.

What are functional mushrooms?

Functional mushrooms are varieties that have been traditionally used to support overall wellness beyond basic nutrition.* Lion’s mane, featured in our Clarity Blend, is one of the most recognized functional mushrooms associated with cognitive wellness, memory, and focus.*

Ingredients & Certifications

Are your ingredients organic?

Yes. Essential Candy products are certified organic using real plant ingredients. We are certified under the USDA National Organic Program, verified by NSF / Quality Assurance International (QAI). Organic certification requires strict standards for ingredient sourcing, processing, and traceability.

Does USDA Organic mean your products are Non-GMO?

Yes. The USDA Organic standard prohibits the use of genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Because our products are USDA Organic certified, our ingredients are non-GMO by definition. You may also see the educational message: “If it’s organic, it’s non-GMO.”

Are your products Gluten-Free Certified?

Yes. Many Essential Candy products are Gluten-Free Certified by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO) and produced under strict ingredient and manufacturing standards to support customers with gluten sensitivities.

Are your products Vegan Certified?

Yes. Many Essential Candy products are Vegan Certified by Vegan.org. We use plant-based ingredients and avoid animal-derived components while maintaining our clean botanical formulations.

Do your products contain artificial ingredients?

No. We avoid artificial colors, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners, sugar alcohols, and preservatives. Our focus is simple: clean, plant-based ingredients you can feel good about.

Why don’t you use artificial sweeteners?

We believe wellness begins with real ingredients. That is why every Essential Candy lozenge is made with organic unrefined cane sugar instead of artificial sweeteners, sugar alcohols, or highly processed alternatives. Each lozenge contains less than 3 grams of sugar because we believe nature already provides what we need.

If it doesn’t come from a plant, we don’t use it.

Do your lozenges contain sugar?

Yes. Our lozenges use organic unrefined cane sugar as part of the base, along with real plant ingredients. We focus on clean formulations rather than artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols while maintaining great taste, texture, and quality.

What plant ingredients do you use in your lozenges?

Our blends feature carefully selected botanicals such as ginger, peppermint, slippery elm, marshmallow root, chamomile, turmeric, holy basil, elderberry, astragalus, schisandra, mullein, nettle leaf, lion’s mane, lemon balm, cacao, citrus oils, and other traditional plant ingredients depending on the formulation.

How many lozenges can I take daily?

Serving sizes vary by product, but most Essential Candy blends recommend allowing one lozenge to dissolve slowly and not exceeding four lozenges per day. After enjoying a lozenge, we recommend waiting about 30 minutes before taking another—whether it's the same blend or a different one. Our botanical blends are designed to be enjoyed mindfully, and sometimes the plants simply need a little time. Different blends can certainly be enjoyed throughout the day as part of your wellness routine, provided you stay within the recommended daily serving guidelines. Check in with yourself, listen to your body, and you may discover that one lozenge is all you need. Always follow the serving directions on each package.

Where are your products made?

All Essential Candy products are manufactured in our own facility in Easley, South Carolina.

What quality standards do you follow?

Our production facility operates under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and is audited and licensed by the South Carolina Department of Agriculture to support strict quality, safety, sanitation, and traceability standards.

Do they melt during shipping?

Our lozenges are shelf-stable, but extreme heat can soften them. We package carefully and ship quickly to help minimize potential issues.

What is the shelf life?

Most Essential Candy products have about a 12-month shelf life when stored in a cool, dry place. The exact best-by date is printed on each package.
